Charter Communications was founded in the year 1993. The company has been operational for 26 years now. The founders of the company were Howard Wood, Barry Babcock and Jerald Kent. During the earlier days of the company’s operations, the company had mainly grown by performing various kinds of acquisitions. This included taking over of Crown Media Holdings for about $300 million. The company had also collaborated with EarthLink in order to provide its customers with high-speed internet. Then in the year 1998, the company also had taken over Marcus Cable, for about $2.8 billion. The following year, the company had become a limited public entity.
