Clif Bar Corporate History
Clif Bar was established in the year 1992. The company has been active for over 26 years now. The founders of the company are Kit Crawford and Gary Erickson. Gary Erickson was a mountain guide and also a baker as well; therefore he was responsible for the recipe for the Clif Bar. The first year of sales of the Clif Bar brought in over $7,00,000. By the year 1997, the sales of the company had crossed $20 million. Then in the year 1999, the company launched the Luna Bar. It was also in 2000 that the founders of the company rejected Quaker Oats from buying the company. During the years 2006 – 2009, the company was ranked number one as the breakaway brand of Forbes. As of the year 2012, $1 million was used to promote organically grown seeds and also preserve the crop genetic diversity as well.
