Cracker Barrel History
Cracker Barrel was founded in the year 1969. The company has been active for almost 49 years now. The founder of the company was Dan Evins. The founder of the company had developed the gift store and restaurant concept in order to improve the sale of gasoline. The founder of the company was a representative of Shell Oil. The first restaurant of the company was opened close to the Interstate 40 highway in Tennessee, USA. It had begun in the year 1969, which started serving biscuits, grits, country ham, southern cuisine, turnip green, etcetera. The company was incorporated in the year 1970, and more location was opened during the 1970s. All the early company restaurant locations had featured gas pumps. During the gasoline shortage in the 1970s, the company started to establish restaurants without any gas pumps and therefore began to eventually fade them out as well.
