GNC was founded in the year 1935. The company has been active for over 84 years now. The founder of the company was David Shakarian. The company has its origins back in the day when the founder of the company had opened a small health food store called Lackzoom, in the city of Pittsburg, Pennsylvania, USA. The first-day earnings of the store were $35. With the next few months, the growth of the company was so tremendous that a second store was opened in the next six months only. But, due to the Ohio River Flood happened in the year 1937, on St. Patrick’s Day, both of the stores had been wiped out as well. The stores were re-opened and b the year 1941, the company had seven stores under its name.
