Symantec History
Symantec was founded in the year 1982. The company has been operational for almost 37 years now. The founder of the company was Gary Hendrix. The company was started with a grant from the National Science Foundation. The main aim of the company was to focus on artificial intelligence. But after two years of operation of the company, it became very well known that the product the company was developing, might not work in the right way possible. This had left Symantec with no such expertise on viable products. During this time, the company was acquired by C&E Software. After the acquisition, the name of the company was still intact.
