Schnucks Supermarket was founded in the year 1939. The company has been active for almost 90 years now. In the year 1952, the first major store of the company was opened in Brentwood, a St Louis suburb. In the year 1968, the company’s symbol was introduced. In the year 1970, the company had taken over Bettendorf-Rapp chain of grocery stores. During the year 1995, the company had undergone major expansions and had also acquired Loblaws as well. The company had also acquired Kroger in the year 1986 and also A&P in the 1970s. Then in the year 2002, the company had acquired 12 Seessel’s stores from Albertsons Incorporated.
