Drivetime History
Drivetime was founded in the year 1977. The company has been operational for almost 42 years now. The founder of the company was Thomas S Duck Sr. The former name of the company was Ugly Duckling, which was a car renting company. By the year 1985, the company and the business was a significant success, and therefore, the company was among the top five rental car companies during that time as well. The company had almost 600 franchises during that time. But, in the year 1989, the company had filed for bankruptcy. In the year 1990, Duck Ventures had bought over the assets of Ugly Duckling, and therefore created Ugly Duckling Holding and made Duck Ventures a subsidiary of the same as well. The company had two car dealers, as of the year 1992.
